5 ways LiveIntent invests in employee wellness
World Mental Health Day on October 10th allowed us to reflect on the events of the last few years and their impact on our lives. The world hadn’t seen a global pandemic of this magnitude in more than a century, and we’ve had to face new obstacles as a result. We’ve all had trouble adjusting to this new way of life, the burnout, social isolation, and anxiety that has come with it.
Per a new study published in the medical journal Lancet, anxiety and depression across the globe have increased exponentially since the pandemic began in March of 2020. Perhaps it’s no surprise then that it’s been difficult for many to maintain a healthy, positive mindset during such turbulent times.
Given the need to isolate and maintain social distance, work and the new remote dynamic play an ever more significant role in employee wellbeing. Employee wellness has always been a substantial focus for LiveIntent, and we put health and wellbeing at the forefront of everything we do. LiveIntent has continued fostering several benefits and initiatives to support our employees, facilitate camaraderie, encourage collaboration, and lessen the angst resulting from these times of unprecedented uncertainty. Here are a few of the great examples of LiveIntent investing in employee wellness:
1. Partnership with Alma
Earlier last year, we established a partnership with Alma: A community of in-network therapists, coaches, and wellness professionals with which our employees can connect.
2. Free subscription to Calm App
We offer a free subscription for all employees to the Calm App: A mobile app that provides guided meditations and specialized music playlists to help with stress and focus.
3. Monthly wellness expense
LiveIntent encourages employees to take advantage of a monthly wellness expense, which employees use for gym memberships, exercise subscription plans, classes at fitness centers, or a personal wellness consultant.
4. Neurodiversity ERG
We host a Neurodiversity Employee Resource Group (ERG), which aims to eliminate the stigma surrounding neurodiversity and mental health by enacting the mantra, “there is no such thing as normal.” Our ERGs hold monthly meetings and give employees a chance to come as they are, with a wealth of knowledge or willingness to learn.
5. Employee engagement activities
LiveIntent hosts weekly and quarterly employee engagement activities like trivia nights, interactive Slack channels, spirit weeks, and educational film discussions, to name a few.
We’ve taken every precaution necessary to ensure the safety, physical, and mental wellbeing of our employees. Although no one knows what 2022 will bring, one thing is for sure, LiveIntent will continue to prioritize and invest in the health and wellbeing of our employees.
