Fallin’ Together
The weather is getting cooler outside but we are creating warm and fuzzy moments here at LiveIntent. This last week we hosted our 2nd company-wide potluck and dare I say: it just keeps getting better and better!
Back in March, we hosted our first Employee Resource Group Potluck in the office. People brought in their family recipes and dishes that honored their cultures, and believe me when I say, it was a foodie’s dream come true! But here’s the twist: even more delightful than the food were the conversations, the infectious laughter echoing around, and that heartwarming sight of our team bonding – face to face! Food, fun, and fab company? That’s our kind of potluck!
Fast forward to October and we knew we wanted to do it again! This time encouraging all three offices (NYC, BER, CPH) and our remote employees around the world to join in on the fun! By the end of the event it was clear that this is what we needed.
At the New York City office, we enjoyed Chana Chaat, Bœuf Bourguignon, Kielbasa, Brown Butter Pumpkin Alla Vodka Tortellini, Noodle Kugel, Chai Spiced Sugar Cookies, Lemon Poppy Cookies, Pecan Pie and approximately 100 dips and cheeses. At the end of the day, we enjoyed German beers recommended by our employees in Berlin and had German pretzels from a local bakery. Can you say, carbo-loading?
Over in Berlin, our employees enjoyed a very festive pumpkin soup and cake at the office. Then, at the end of the day they all walked down the street to a local Bavarian restaurant, for an Oktoberfest celebration where they had drinks for happy hour.
In Copenhagen, the employees had a potluck in the office and tasted dishes from Sri Lanka, Sweden and Denmark. The office was decorated, employees dressed in costumes to celebrate Halloween and tasted different kinds of German beer to honor Oktoberfest.
The conversations, laughter and seeing our employees come together felt even better this time as we heard people say, “This is exactly what I needed right now.” There is a lot going on in the world, a phrase that feels like it is unfortunately on repeat. On the outside, it may sound like this was “just” a company potluck but we saw first hand that our people found healing in cooking, comfort in eating together and solace in moments of laughter. This is why #putpeoplefirst is such an important core value to LiveIntent and why we prioritize these initiatives to impact our company culture.
