Mobile email usage has jumped 28% over the past year
Responsys just published some data showing how retailers have been upping the ante on their email programs. According to this study, the number of emails that retailers sent to their customers jumped 20% in the first half of this year. In June these stores sent 16 emails per subscriber – a 21% increase since last year.
Part of this rise is due to the ease and frequency with which people use email on smartphones these days. Mobile email has risen 28% over the past year, according to comScore. Online commerce in the US jumped a full 17% in Q1 of 2012- its tenth consecutive period of growth. With its high engagement and fantastic ROI, email is the best way to engage subscribers and drive lucrative site traffic.
